Sailing Catamaran Follow-the-Sun Relocation

Hello,

I'm looking at purchasing a 42' to 44' catamaran to place in charter, but looking to deploy in the Newport, RI region in the summer and done south (Florida, Bahamas, BVI) in the winter. I am trying to determine approximate costs to move 2X per year. Considerations include sailing by crew or yacht transport (pro's and con's of each).

Thanks in advance.

First you should talk to a charter company to see if they are amenable to such an arrangement. Then you should see what they can do for you.

A delivery will take about 2 weeks @ about $400 per day, plus expenses, for the skipper; crew costs and expenses would be in addition.

The are yacht transport companies. They are willing to provide quotes.
