I hate to bring up climate change but one has to wonder if it is affecting the frequency & severity of these monsters. Scary.

not sure but would assume that due to the lower temperature differentials meaning less severe storms one would hope that it would result in fewer and less severe waves .
But there is so little known about them that it is impossible to say with any degree of certainty .

At about 1:15 & 3;30 into this video is good image of the flex built into these boats to cushion the loads.

Re: Rogue Wave Video - Best I Have Seen

Here's a scary, short video of a test in a water tank. It's only around two and a half minutes long. If you're in a rush go to the 41 or 42 second mark. Very scary.

Any footage would be at the bottom of the Atlantic.

Re: Rogue Wave Video - Best I Have Seen

I posted this earlier but forgot to mention a key item. This is a scary video of a sailboat getting hit by a rogue wave in a test tank. It's a four foot model being hit by a ten foot wave on. The video is around two and a half minutes long, but if you want to get to the scary part, advance to the forty one or forty two second mark. Be afraid!
