Red Bull Youth AC Racing: USA can't advance to top 8?

There are many racing series going on in Bermuda along with the America's Cup. One is the Red Bull Youth America's Cup for 18-24 year olds on the same AC 45s the America's Cup is racing.

The US team didn't advance to the top 8, which is sad, I believe. Of course, Oracle is hardly American so I shouldn't be surprised the US isn't competitive.

What's the state of youth sailing in the US? Are we no longer competitive with our own?

Also some good Hobie Wave and BIC racing going on. Good to see the promotion of youth racing at the AC this entire month.
