Not sure how you meant it, but from here is sounds like you were supportive at first but now since she doesn't like your advice you've decided not to be. Were both messages sincere?

I'm still supportive no matter what she decides. I was just saying for that first post there were a lot of members that weren't supportive. I was then as I still am now.

Re: Rebel Heart's Contribution to the Cruising Community
New posting from Rebel Heart:
Rebel Heart - Charlotte's Blog - Overwhelmed, Shocked,Â*Saddened
Let the nitpicking begin … she says "they helped us manually pump our bilge every few hours" and "They slept for three nights in a tiny, cramped cabin that poured seawater with every breaking wave."
This doesn't sound like what I heard on the press conference video by the rescue crew.

What? Military men were more stoic than an overwhelmed civilian?!

Are you suggesting that they downplayed the condition of and on the boat?

I take that all as a grain in comparison to those emails she posted on there.

I really didn't understand reposting that vile email. But her description on life on the boat was much different than the rescuers version. And I don't think it was the military being stoic, and if it were their version would border on misleading and I doubt it was.

Part of Rebel Heart #1's contribution has been like a beginning course in in what the internet can be. I wonder if the positive shall outweigh the negative?

Re: Rebel Heart's Contribution to the Cruising Community
It's unclear what is really dramatic and what is just vague. pouring in could be from an open hatch for ventilation. Pumping every few hours depend on what she thinks few hours are.
Oh the drama.

I try to keep the hatches closed at sea in heavy weather. I just works better.

I see the negative. I also see you can make it positive if you secure what you contribute to a select audience.

With four stinky pjs, a pile of used diapers, and a backed up head I bet you would change your mind.

Rebel Heart's Contribution to the Cruising Community
Deck Officer-It's nice to try to get an honest discussion going but it seems you've been discovered. Some who bring the same old hash of blog he said-she said again from some. Until I hear from RH with his story here or elsewhere, I give only words of support. It seem some may want to profit from others loss which is despicable. I won't take the chance.
As far as taking words from the blog. When we were out cruising, my blog became a diary of sorts. More my views since I was the one writing it. And yes, sometimes angry things get written when you had a day with your hands full (not saying what). These are things that I wouldn't share because I'm more private but with RH could be the start of a better dialog to help others (like this & the other one was until the hint of lurkers).
I do hope this can stay a decent dialog and not a blame game or bs session. I think-no, I've witnessed that on CF. That's why I read it as often as I can and respect those members & the mods who keep it this way.
