Ray marine es127

Installed a used es 127 and went sailing for the first tome today. It worked flawless heading down wind but when I went to return we were sailing in 22 knots of wind on a close reach and 2 foot waves and the unit kept going from chart mode to the home screen. Would a loose connection cause this. Unit never tried to to shut off it just went to home screen. Ray marine had no answers. We tried resetting unit and that did not work either. Volts read 12.7. At the dock it worked fine. Thanks cm 381
