I wonder why they built that thing practically square in the bow.

No wonder it will only do 15kts. Seems like a good compromise to sacrifice the cargo space for a bit more speed. Might be able to make a few more trips per year.

What we don't see in that pic is the huge bulb that thing must have just below the water.
