First, I know this is the WRONG way for this time of the year. We have been living in the
BVI and USVI since June of 2010. We are ready to
head back at a
slow pace and want to arrive in
Georgia around March/April. Our plan is to leave PR mid January. Next stop DR then C&T, then up through the
Bahamas. That is the
route we took coming down, also the WRONG way for that time of the year. Just thought I would throw this out for suggestions on stops to make or not make,
weather experience for that time period, routes to avoid and why, fuel/water, good or bad
marinas, etc. We were in a hurry on the way down, but on the way back the only issue will be
internet service. Once a month I HAVE to be on the
internet for several days for business. I am considering a SAT
phone for internet. Cost is a real eye opener on that. I am connected to ActiveCaptain, so I get a lot of great information there. Thanks in advance for any helpful information. PS: I have
scuba dived in the
Bahamas in Feb. and traveled the
ICW in March, so I know how cold it can get. We do have heat on the
boat.
