I'm not sure what you mean........ current is measured in amps, voltage in volts. I'm guessing you mean that you shut down when the battery voltage is over 29? And that you have a 24V system? In that case, once battery voltage hits 29.2V you are just out of bulk charging phase and transitioning into absorption........ that would make sense. Is that what you mean?

I've found that in the tropics i didn't mind sacrificing fridge space for more efficient insulation (small spaces are easier to cool anyway, so the smaller you can manage with the better as far as energy consumption is concerned). To that end, i installed my extra insulation on the inside of the compartment (and on the lid as well), about 4 inches of it (solid extruded polystyrene sheets) and then did the inside surface in formica. Id i did it again i'd lay up some thin sheets of glass instead, but the formica works. Stick it on with some cheap household silicone sealant and Bob's your uncle. No removal of countertops necessary and if you want to you can do it in stages. Only tricky bit is taking the cooling plate out and re-installing it when you're done (making sure you don't make the compartment so small that it will no longer fit!).
