Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
Where do you live?
I'm curious how many of our forum readers live aboard versus enjoy the creature comforts on land.

To do this right - why don't you use your thread tools and set it up like a poll? Makes it easier to follow and then you can also include answers like
"I live on the boat 6 months of the year. (for those of us that live in cold climates)

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
Perhaps I should have simply asked how many people are, or were, live aboards. (Given the number of responses)

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
Living on land watching vegetables grow ( which is nice), but spending more time than I should wondering why I don't just up stakes and wander off into the blue. Boat is moored waiting for me to stop being a wuss and quit my job. Until I get my brave on and learn a lot more about solo sailing ;I am appreciating living vicariously by reading about other people's lives on the water.

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
I need another option: Boat is my home, but I expect to spend winters living out of my motorcycle, in a tent.
Where does that fit?

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
Liveaboard for I think 5 years now. (All at a marina as I was either a student or a working stiff during that time with weekend and vacation cruising only) I worry about the day I have to live in a condo or apartment again (fates be good, that will never happen) I can't imagine ever living that close to that many people again.

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
I remember when I thought that everyone I met who had lived aboard for more than ten years was a bit peculiar.....that was in 1982, when I first moved aboard. 29 years of full time living aboard later, and, guess what, I was right, in a good way!

Re: Poll: Sea Dog or Land Lubber?
Still working until I get the kid in College, and the boat is a three hour drive away.
Do expect to list the house and land for sale very soon, and hope to rent after it sells.
