Pets aboard and information/regulations required

We recently purchased a 56' Hatteras. We have a Shih tzu and want to bring her along with us as we cruise. We are currently in NC and will be bringing our boat south and around to the gulf coast. I purchased Wee Wee pads for her for going to the bathroom. She is currently used to going on the grass, be it being walked or on our lawn at home.

Does anyone have suggestions on retraining so we don't have to deal with "accidents" on our teak floors or carpets....
