Perfectly parked

This mast has been sticking up for a couple of years now, half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. What is interesting is the absolute perpendicular attitude! It was either a bilge keeler or sank at just the right angle.

I know you are joking, but definitely a mono. Spreaders, shroud angle and backstay are a give away.

Are you sure its not a cat. Just too level for the alternative.

Is it in the channel or did it go down at anchor?

Yep its a mono. Its in the mooring field at Jacobs Well. Just outside the channel.

Yeah, I motored past that one in my brother's tinny while out fishing about two years ago. Seems no-one bothered to find the owner and have it removed. Curious that it apparently hasn't been molested for bits by now.
