Passage Through Suez.

My apologies if this thread is under the wrong topic.
I am currently trying to research the cost and procedures for bringing a small vessel through the Suez Canal from Port Said to the Red Sea. The vessel is a 50ft sailing boat. All the literature that I can find seems to be relevant only for commercial vessels and seems to indicate that a Kafkaesque nightmare of agents, pilots and officials need to be navigated before the canal.
I would be grateful if anyone who has previously made this passage could offer some tips and advice, particularly with reference to canal dues etc.
