Panama City Marinas or Yacht Clubs

I'm researching marinas near Panama City and am becoming confused. I'm told that the name of the Flamenco Yacht Club is actually " Fuerte Amador Resort & Marina", yet when I try to access their website I go around in circles, always coming back to links to 'www.flamenco-island.com' which is inactive.

Then I tried finding information about the Balboa Yacht Club. Most information talks about it burning down, but some recent sites refer to beautiful facilities and racing programs.

Can someone who is/has been there recently please fill me in? Are either or both active? Good dock facilities? Active websites with current information?

Thanks very much.

Re: Panama City marinas or yacht clubs

Don't know a thing about Yacht Clubs, but there are a ton of marinas in PC. we spent a couple of weeks there this summer, prepareing a boat for delivery. did some cruising around and it's a watery place lots of marinas and private docks lots of places to moor and a couple of nice anchorages. Nice place met some nice folks Bob and Connie PS most yacht clubs don't care for bearded old men LOL

Re: Panama City marinas or yacht clubs

My boat is moored at Taboga (7 miles off shore) of Panama City. Here is the cruisers information you need.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/southb...OUNTRY/Panama/

There are very good moorings areas (free) on both sides of the causeway-BUT, weather determines which side you anchor.
