Jane Doe is at least of an age to eat grass. Maybe will survive, and what more could you do? So congrats, you did a good deed, and the deer appreciated it, even if it looked like she thought she had a new Mom.

I wonder, if we can take from her nuzzling you that she was used to people? Maybe someone at a campground or in a tent or cottage had been feeding her?
