Was going to buy this unit but then read reviews on several sites citing limited MMSI compatibility, difficultly configuring, small loose parts and the unit sinking to the bottom because a clip failed.

Anyone here using one?

Are there other similar units?

Seems like a good idea to have both local (DSC/AIS) and global (406) devices.

We have MOBs inside and PLBs attached to all our spinlock vests. Additionally we have their AIS alarm installed at the nav desk.

We test them annually and have never had any issues. When the MOB is activated, we get a mark and alarm on our B&G plotter, a mark and alarm on the Vesper Cortex handhelds, DSC alarms on all the radios, and the AIS alarm screams.
