anyone with knowledge of the drop
keel on Bonito Trojan?
My yacht is currently in slings while I have some
work done on the
trailer to make it road
legal.
Since it's a reasonably physical haul to pull the
keel up at the end of a day's sailing I want to do some
maintenance on the keel and lifting mechanism while I've got good access.
Hoped someone might have
experience of this and can offer some insights and
advice or photographs.
I'm going to drop the keel down for an
inspection - might need a
paint - then with some tyres under the keel I'll release the lifting line so I can remove the top cover and inspect the pulleys.
Worst case is I'll need to
lift the keel out through the
cabin roof.
Advice, comments, suggestions appreciated.
