Normally AC anchorages have names associated with them, the name is of course one way to determine your looking at the same Anchorage.
We will be down in a couple of weeks and haven’t decided if we will cross from Lake Worth or more likely go further South and cross to Bimini or similar, but may stay a few days in Lake Worth if we can find a nice place to, and what you guys are describing sounds like a nice place, so I’m interested in finding out where it is.

Unfortunately things like PGA bridge don’t mean much to me, I guess because I’ve only come into Lake Worth via the inlet.
Go north of the inlet until wide, lake like area, of the ICW turns off into only a channel. Right before the turn you can go to the East into a bay... that is the Lake Worth North anchorage. Look at that area to the East of the two marinas... there is an anchor symbol right there with a green dot.

Edit: Google maps "Old Port Cove Marine" It's the area to the East.

Re: North Lake Worth Anchorage

Most transients anchor south of the Blue Heron Bridge, around Peanut Island. At that location there are plenty of dinghy landing spots, easy access to stores and marine parts as well as several County bus routes to downtown, airport, shopping.

The North Lake Worth anchorage is very crowded with moored boats owned by the residents of the abutting condos and homes. And dont dare tie your dinghy up to their docks!

Re: North Lake Worth Anchorage

So if you anchor around Peanut Island where do you tie your dingy up to that is close to shopping and eating establishments?
Are there Marinas they let you tie up for a fee?

Re: North Lake Worth Anchorage

Seems even some cruisers here want to discourage boaters fron using the subject anchorage.

Guess that works for me. Ive stayed there 5 times the past 3 years and less crowd is ok with me.

Re: North Lake Worth Anchorage

Just spoke with local tow boat us captain. Usual problem, one or two boats have been abandoned, broken loose etc.Local homeowners asked PD to do something, now they check occasionally to make sure boats are not becoming permanent,if in doubt the do a safety check, usually find something, then come again to check. Apparently the local cop,Mike,is a good guy, genuine cruisers passing through should not get harassed .
