Exclamation No GPS signal

I've recently resetted my Simrad RS 35 to change the old MMSI to the new one. But since then everytime i turn it on, it says no GPS signal.

My chart plotter and all other systems work but the radio cant get the GPS signal.

I feel like i may have skipped some settings or steps while changing my mmsi.

Can someone help please?

Re: No GPS signal

I can't begin to help if there actually is something wrong in the radio. However, that radio automatically utilizes a GPS antenna on the 2000 network, and allows manual insertion of a GPS position if it cannot find an antenna. If it will let you insert a manual position, it does not see an antenna.

Loss of the antenna through a corroded connection or other failure is more likely than failure in the radio. I recommend that you chase down that possibility (Do you get GPS on your plotter?) before concluding that you twisted the radio's little brain in inserting the new MMSI.

Re: No GPS signal

I actually found out that the problem was just that it was getting the GPS data from the wrong source. When I go into the menu and change the source of the GPS data it worked very well
