New sails for our Cat

Anyone have feedback on Fareast or Loong sails
Looking at a new squaretop to replace original main.
Cheers

Re: New sails for our Cat

No experience with those lofts, but it's well worth giving Gary Saxby, UK Halsey sails in Brisbane a call. Very good sails and very good prices.

Re: New sails for our Cat

I'll second Gary, I've purchased sails and rigging from him. He was as competitive as overseas lofts.

Re: New sails for our Cat

I purchased (and had shipped to US) replacement sails for my Seawind 1000 cat from Barracouta Sails, in Caringbah NSW. Also ordered a spinnaker from him. The jib and main were cruise laminate that were eight years old with still competitive shape when we sold the boat earlier this year. The spinnaker design was spot-on for the target AWA and AWS design brieft. He (Neil Tasker) makes a lot of multihull sails - especially Seawind cat (1160, 1250) and Schionning cat - many for racing but some for cruising. He's currently making a main and jib for our Seawind 1160 Lite currently being built in Vietnam. Still thinking about what we want for downwind sails.

Three other Seawind owners in US that I know have purchased from him and very happy with their sails. Within Australia, I think he has something of a cult following among the Seawind owners. (Maybe because Seawind manufacturing used to be in Oz as well.)
