New sailing blogs

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone here knows of any up and coming sailing blogs i.e. People who are planning a long cruise, circumnavigation or other sailing adventure in the near future (or have just started)? I am really into sailing blogs at the moment and want to follow one from the start. Thanks

Re: New sailing blogs

I'm going to try to go cruising permanently in 2-3 years, but that timeframe may be too far in the future for you. I'm in the 'refitting' stage right now.

Re: New sailing blogs

Personally, prefer an established blog that has been around for a while.

It always seems when I find a just started blog after 3-4 posts they stop.

Of course you need to checkout "The Nomad Trip". Nate is a good writer and is super candid about everything. Costs, crew, boat maintenance, he leaves nothing out.

Second, these guys do a blog and videos.. They have only been out there for a month or so, but spent about a year refitting.. I enjoy their stuff..
Catchin' Rays

Another one I really enjoyed was Oceana, but they have stopped updating for a few months now. Pretty common with young blogs. They are all gung hoe when they start but eventually cruising life takes over and they stop. In her last few tweets, she swears she will start posting again, but that was a month ago and still nothing. Here is the site anyway.

Re: New sailing blogs

I like this blog by a young couple who planned cruising for about a year and recently started their sailing adventures on Helia 44 cat:

Re: New sailing blogs

We have a sailing blog, so far just our delivery trip, a couple of small trips, our boat and the work we are doing on it. From 4 May 2015 it will detail our six months trip from Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef and back. See the link below and the link on the main menu.

You might like svrocketscience(dot)com. Jenny takes some fantastic pictures. We've covered San Francisco to Rhode Island so far on this boat, it's pretty well chronicled. Some Bering Sea stories and other travels in there for flavor, too.

Re: New sailing blogs

We're just finishing prepping in Ft Lauderdale and will head off in about a week. Planning on 3-5 years but it could be a lot shorter or longer!

New sailing blogs

Google Interesting Sailboats for a combo blog on technical options about sailboat industry, boats and gear plus a personal cruise log during season. Paulo, aka Polux here on this forum, shares shares his wealth of knowledge.

Thanks man....appreciate the plug. And I try to update the blog as I can, but the videos take up so much of my time its hard to do anything else.

Btw, I am sitting here at the pavilion in the Ponce Marina with my laptop to try and upload my latest video. Its 1.6 gigs to upload to YouTube and the wifi signal was too weak from my boat to get it done. So to keep busy, I was just surfing through the CF posts and found this one....so it was a nice surprise to find somebody actually referred my blog and videos - thanks a bunch.
