Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!

My set were just delivered and they look and fit great. Lots of features that I didn't expect but that should be worth having. Very well made durable looking. I'm 6'1" and the XL fits perfectly.

I tried on the full suit and it highlighted my need for foul weather boots, ski goggles and gloves. Any recommendations for good boots and gloves that would go well with this setup and work well while sailing, usually in moderate temperatures?

Thanks for the great recommendation, I probably would have just used one of my ski jackets etc. but now look forward to being so much more comfortable while sailing through some foul weather.

Re: New Foul Weather Set $85 - GREAT!

They look great for the price, but I have given up on yachty gear with nylon exteriors. The outside absorbs too much liquid and even if you're dry inside the gear takes days to dry and pretty soon gets all mildewy and yucky. I've switched back to Grunden's fishing gear which is some sort of orange PVC I think on the outside that is tough as nails, doesn't absorb water, and they have such a loose cut that they ventilate pretty good. It's also the only stuff I know of that you can sit in six inches of water through a full four-hour shift, if you need to, and you won't have a wet butt. Another thing, is you can scrub off stains and dirt pretty easily. Get real commercial fishing gear at some place like Hamilton Marine. Also, it lasts just about forever.

She got the medium. It was the smallest size they had. A little bit big on her but certainly workable.

After mine arrived today my wife went over to that Army/Navy site and ordered her a set of smalls. (She's 5' 0" and 116). Get this...she took their survey for an extra discount and she got the set for $67.50!! I hate when she does that to me! LOL, so if you can spring for $67 bucks you could get her a set of smalls and sell the mediums here! I'm sure they are going to run out soon with all this action we're sending them...
Good luck!

Martin

How tall is your wife? I'm more interested in the jacket than the bibs, and trying to figure out if I should get my wife the medium or small (I found the small available at the surplus place).

Thanks man!

My wife is about 5'4-5'5. So a little bit taller than 5'0. I think she could rock the small size but she is alright with the medium as well. I'm 6'2" and the XL seems to fit just right on me.

Ah crap I'm 6'2" and just ordered a Large. Hopefully they have a good return policy if it's too small.

If she is that tiny just tuck her inside your E-Large and save the cost of the second suit.

This would easily cost you $300-400 elsewhere. Free shipping too. I suggest ordering up a size, I did for each of them. That way you have room for warm clothes underneath (if needed) and plenty of room for movement.

A brighter color would be better, but reflectives are good and the hood is NEON, chartreuse yellow.

$84.99 is for the set (jacket and bib)!

read most of the posts and followed the link to Barre army-navy in Vermont, took the goofy survey and boughy two for 135 total including shipping. The only place we have done better was Boater's World liquidation. I think we paid about 25 per suit. We bought several so guests are covered too.
