I am assuming you have a windlass? If so, I would go with 100' of chain and a 45' lb Manson Supreme, Mantus, or Spade.

Re: New Anchor

No. No wind glass on the Tartan 33 unfortunately.

At this point my choice is between the Mantus and Rocna.

Both are 33 lbs both anchors have about the same price of 350$.

From the table they provide this is more than enough for a 33 ft boat of 10.000 lbs even in stormy condition. They both have good review and some of your comments were mentioning these two anchors.

In term of chain since in Florida we mostly anchor in shallow water of 6 ft, i think the 50 ft I was thinking about is will be enough.

Re: New Anchor

We have a Tartan 37 and is the big brother of your boat. Same designer, the boats have a long overhang on the bow and are very weight sensitive on the bow. We have a 35lb Mason Supreme with 25ft chain and happy. The T33 is only a 10,000lb boat, the 25lb'er will be fine, add 20ft chain. The shallow sandy bottoms of Fla will suck that baby up. All three bands are good.

Re: New Anchor

I wanted to give you a feedback on this topic. I bought the Mantus 35 lb a few months ago. I am very happy about it so far. The holding is great and no more dragging. Max wind has been 25 knots so far (so not that much). I was worry about the 35 lb, since it is a bit oversize for a 33 ft boat, but i don't regret it. Compare to my old anchor the weight is not much of a problem and it fits well on the boat. This is how it looks: https://windmaiden.blog/2018/09/03/p...-a-new-season/
Thx to all for your advices ! It has been very helpful.

I would look at Mantus or Rocna.
Our Manson supreme spends most of its time securely anchored in compacted sand and weed.

I guess that I am a luddite then. Sarca Excell, proven to be better than either the delta or Rocna for me!!

Re: New Anchor

We were very happy with our Manson Supreme during our first year of cruising - anchoring in Lake Erie, Long Island Sound, Chesapeake, AICW, East Coast Florida, Bahamas, Florida Keys and West Coast Florida. Her Diamond (38’ Freedom weighing in at 15,000 lbs) is on the hard in Port Charlotte for Hurricane Season and we will be resuming travels right after Thanksgiving. We have decided to upsize to 45 lb Manson Supreme, so our 1 year old 35 lb Supreme is for sale - $200. Feel free to pm me if interested or with any questions.
