Need Toronto Marina for Winter Storage and Access to Work

Hello,

OK all you GTA locals! We live downtown but are debating between the more conveniently-located Outer Harbour Marina, or the Scarborough Bluffs Marina.

We need to be able to work on the boat autumn & winter, so preferably will have access to power as opposed to a generator, (but will get one if necessary). We have just purchased a Bristol 40 this week!

Any good, current information on the merits of either place? (We don't want to join a club at this point.)

Have you considered Port Credit Harbour Marina, at the other end of town?

go for convenience. also in mid-winter it may be a problem getting down the bluffs to the scarborough marina.

just alittle further east..............phone frenchmans bay marina in pickering, easy to get there

I like Outer Harbour Marina, we were able to get a lot of the work done on the boat, needed a long extension cord to get to the power

I'd be careful with Outer Harbour. I purchased Sabre Dance while she was on the hard there, and was planning on coming back to do some work on the hull but was informed by the manager that they were no longer allowing major work to be done on site. Too many part completed projects left laying about, so that was it. I wanted to sand blast the hull and the back end of their yard would have been perfect but no joy. Not to mention they are hella expensive.

However, I can and do recommend their onsite mechanic, Puddle Duck. Robert came and checked out my Volvo, after it had been laid up in unknown condition for 5 years. Found a bad water pump impellor, then ended up rebuilding the pump because the thing was so badly worn. Anyway, he did a good job at a reasonable price. Nice guy to chat with as well.
