Thank you!

Exciting times. Try not to get too excited, but it’s really getting interesting now.

We put the front crossbeam in place today. It’s just hanging there. We still need to bolt it in with backing plates and all of that. But, within a couple days that should be in place and done also.

Then it’s down to finishing that steering system which is frankly kind of frightening. I have never put one in before. There are hydraulic lines everywhere when you have a ram in each hull, a hydraulic pump for the auto pilot, and a hydraulic helm pump to steer manually. Oh yeah. Plus a liquid tie bar.

It’s COMPLICATED plumbing and no one source says how to do all of that. I had to cobble together several different layouts from different manuals. Hoping that goes well. Ha ha.

Re: Need to lift my stern out of the water a little. Pillows?

I have 2 suggestions. Find a lift after hours and have them lift the stern and hold it up until you complete the job. The other suggestion would be to beach your boat or part of the boat and complete your job as tide goes out and before it returns. I am not sure about using a flotation collar or other device as it will want to slide out the rear as it lifts the boat.

Drive her up on the beach at high tide? I painted my catamaran this way, worked fine. First low, scrub and prep, second low paint.

Alternately, i installed a depth thru-hull by putting the thing in a coffee can, diving under the hull, having someone drill from the inside while the can was held over the hole, fishing the wire thru, applying core sealant and screwing the finder into place. Sold the boat 15 years later without a drop coming thru.

Rent a Chinese drone and use it as a skyhook.

Kedge up onto a beach. Then kedge back into the water.

Have SeaTow bring you to the Bay of Fundy and do your work there.
