thanks, yeah Mike O had some good ideas as well witht he black sprayer bottle. i would definately resort to something similar when on passages or as you described. for the forseeable future though i will mostly be stuck in a marina with the occasional two to three day island hopping in the channel islands so will have access to enough fresh water.

i just wanted to have tank big enough that i didnt have to drag out the hose every other day. looks like from all the replies i will have no issue at all even with a smaller 20 gal tank which i think i prefer now to save some weight and space.

i appreciate all the replies and input.

I get wet with 1/2 gal. Soap up. Rinse with less than 2 gallons, and more likely about 1 gallon. Then my wife can use he rest of the hot water. What sacrifices I make!

Better yet, get a sprayer that only sprays while you hold down a button. Scandvik sells them and a common sink sprayer works well too.

I wouldn't want to hold down a button and shower with one hand, but to each their own. Maybe when the rest of my hair falls out.

This is how I rigged my garden sprayer. Works great.
