Mono v Catamaran

Hi, I am in the market to buy for the purpose of a live aboard for my retirement. Although I haven't sailed for 15 years, I do have previous experience on an Adams 13. I will be cruising mostly the Australian north east coast. As a keen scuba diver and would like easy water access. I am leaning towards a Catamaran but would like your opinion on the pros and cons between Mono and Multi hulls. Thanks

Hello Dazz and welcome to CF.

Most of the regulars here are pretty burnt out on your question. I'd recommend you just use the search function and read the many, many threads already existing extolling the virtues and pitfalls of monohulls and catamarans.

Re: Mono v Catamaran

As Doug says there are plenty of discussions on the topic to search for here. But if it were me, and I was coastal cruising and doing a lot of diving, I'd opt for a cat. And I love my little mono.

As a keen scuba diver wanting easy water access I'm guessing you will want to be where you are diving when there is no wind.

Maybe a powered vessel would be more suitable
