My wife & I attended the Miami Strictly Sail Boat Show in 2010. You'll enjoy it especially if you haven't been there before. The seminars are very good!

Hope to be back in 2014.

My first stop is always couchsurfing.org - it's a free social netwroking site for folk who offer their couches to 'travellers' and in return get to stay with others. This way I have stayed with locals in Siam Reap, Beka'a Valley and Copenhagen. Much more interesting than hotels etc.

On the down side, it's only fair that you offer up your couch / spare bed in return. We do, and we have hosted only very interesting, adventurous and open-minded people.

You can try the Leamington Hotel. It is a really cheap older place w/in a few blocks of the show. We have stayed there several times. Its a no frills place, but if you just want a safe place to sleep this is it.

It always reminds me of a place that I stay in La Ceiba Honduras if that helps give you an idea of what the place is like.

The Leamington Hotel - 307 Northeast 1st St. Miami, FL 33132

Cheers,
Mike

A poll has been added to this thread.

It may allow members to meet at the show if they know who is attending.
