Marine Surveyor operating in Madeira Needed

Hi

Sorry if not the right forum - please bump me elsewhere if needed

Like in the title, i need a reccomendation for a marine surveyor operating in Madeira Portugal to survey a 38 ft fibreglass boat.

currently my searches came up with only 3 in mainland portugal. one not highly recommended on, and the rest addmited the distance will make it very costly.

any advice will help

Raz.

Not that important - its for a sea trial and pre purchase survey
more important is that the survey will be comprehensive

sure if any accreditation is present it would be nice, and the survey can be used afterwards

Are you ready to fly one in from the mainland? Or from your country of origin?

If not, maybe it would be better to find a boat closer to home, or accept the risks, and have it surveyed after you get it home. Perhaps a low-ball offer due to not being able to survey it.

Also, take a look at this: https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...1-a-78671.html I don't know how experienced you are, but you can learn a fair wee bit about doing it for yourself, thanks to boatpoker. Maybe you can do it.

many miles between Israel and Madeira - so no go there

if i have to i will fly one over from Portugal - have no other choice other than bite the bullet and take out more cash out of the kitty.
any recommendation on surveyors from Portugal will be appreciated

You might try sending a PM to Cf member, < boatman61 >. He lives on mainland Portugal, somewhere, iirc, called Almeria or Almeira?

Good luck with it.
