marinas/yards around St. Petersburg for mast removal

I am purchasing a boat from the St. Pete area. I will be transporting the boat and am looking for recommendations for yards in the relative area. I don't mind moving the boat some if its worth it. I will be removing the sails, boom, bimini and running rigging myself. I will need to mast/standing rigging removed and the boat hauled/loaded on the transporter.

The boat is a Sabre 42 C/B

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Re: marinas/yards around St. Petersburg for mast removal

SSMR Rigging has a dock and crane on Salt Creek in St. Pete's boatyard district. They are reasonably priced and located in a boatyard, so the boat can be hauled after that. Stay away from Progressive Marine. It has a long history of complaints about inflated bills, unnecessary work, surprise charges and bogus estimates.

Sailor's Wharf and Embree Marine are both excellent full service boatyards in St. Petersburg.

Like Shanachie says- SSMR is a great team of riggers.
