I (and possibly others) have always thought about this as the reaction of a caveman suddenly brought into the present, or our own reaction if we were suddenly transported into the distant future. It is just delightful to be reminded of all the magic that surrounds us right now. Thanks, SB1.

And now I'm thinking about explaining to that caveman how all this stuff works:

"Well, the air is full of all these little invisible squiggly things that move really fast..."

I can't help thinking about the trouble we're having explaining science to some modern humans, never mind cave men!

The problem is we ARE cavemen. Not enough time for evolution to do its trick.

Not only that, but you can sail downwind faster than the wind.

Nice thread, thanks Sailorboy1.
It's also magic to be able to read the views of people from all over the world instantaneously.

I have discovered the most magical thing yet!
It's the Basic Overlooked Ocular "Kniga".

Re: Magic!

My magic trick is making those invisible electrons manifest themselves as smoke.

Sometimes I accompany the manifestation with a loud BANG!
At other times I just make all the lights go out.
Now and again I get all three at once.

I'm quite good at it.
