Lower Chesapeake Day Sail

It was a really nice day to sail here today with winds mostly Easterly (and somewhat North) so you could shut your engine down early if sailing out of Norfolk/VA Beach and head North beating into the wind

Winds were 12-19 knots and the water was clear. I didn't reef though. I sailed out with a couple 40' boats which went first and I stayed within maybe 1000 yards for a couple hours before I turned back

I saw 3 dolphins go just under my boat. Their sonar/radar is up to date on calibration because they went under very close

I would have been out there with you (though up in the mid-Bay) but I have been sick to the point of being feeble for a couple of days. Glad some sailors were able to enjoy the fine weather.

Damn. I hope you feel better soon.

Sometimes I force myself to go sailing even when I'm not 100% and sometimes I feel better afterwards.

Since I'm over 60, I feel I must go now rather than wait

A few beers at the dock afterward seems to help also.
