Lovin' It!

Ahoy,

Just completed my first sailing course - ASA 101, and ended with single handing a Capri 22 in and out of Santa Barbara Harbor.

OK, it's a start anyway. Tacking up a narrow channel filled with kayaks, paddle boards, motor boats, water taxis, fishing boats and cruisers was interesting. Oh yeah, can't forget the race with the 60 or so 12-footers. Most embarrassing moment: getting my head stuck in between the lines of the mainsheet on a particularly urgent tack (as in nearly running aground)!

I think the single handing was maybe (make that probably) the most educational part of it all!

See ya out there someday soon!

Soon you may be throwing money into a hole in the water.

Welcome to the club and the forum.

Looking for another pretty place to work on the boat.

Re: Lovin' It!

Thanks, Cap Erict3...

Throwing money down a hole in the water, yes. I also aspire to one day be standing under a cold shower tearing up money with all a' yall!

You'll do well if you remember:

Have fun.

Re: Lovin' It!

Sounds like you got the hook in you. It's virtually impossible to remove, so wear it with pride.

And welcome to the club!
