I would highly recommend Cracker Boy Boatyard in Ft Pierce, they have a sister yard in west palm beach, but much more expensive and more restrictions.

In Ft Pierce, can spray and sandblast. Very skilled workers on site, or can completely do it yourself. If you are going to be more than a month, negotiate a discounted rate....

We spent 9 months there during one refit and 7 months there during another refit, two different boats. Very inexpensive and fair, good advice and help, excellent painter and carpenter work out of there if you need help...

In Fort Pierce, there is a yard North of the hiway bridge... it's the Northernmost marina/yard in Ft Pierce. I saw all kinds of projects there going on by owners. A bit junky, but the price was right and the people friendly.
I just looked... it's Riverside Marina. I liked Crackerboys, but ask about what you can do there before you go.. seems like there were some limits on what you could do or they wanted to do .....
