Local Knowledge? Skull Creek, SC, Port Royal Sound

Moving the boat this weekend from Brunswick to Skull Creek Safe Harbor marina and just looking for any local knowledge for the marina or Port Royal Sound approaching from the South.

I'm doing that in reverse next week. The inlet is good and well marked. Wide channel into the Skull Creek marina. Plan arrival at a slack tide. Ben and crew are pros, wait for their help handling lines. Lots of ship traffic due to Savanah.

We are staying longer. Moving in November.

Ours too. Have till Dec 1 to get the boat ready to live on for 6 months down south. LOTS of projects with solar and new dodger/bimini being the biggest. Hoping to be there around 50% of the time either week on/week off or 2 weeks at a time.

How did the area do through the storm ?
I did not get chance to secure.

We rode it out on the boat. It was ..... unnerving. I'm not sure I'd do it again.

Elsa was a TS by the time it got here, but very strong winds, lots of surge.

We prepped the boat, had no damage. At our marina some cleats pulled out and at least one boat got sideways and suffered minor damage.
