Personally, I see no sense in packaging immersion suits in a rife raft cannister/bag, as one, imho, should be donning the suit before they are in the position of having to abandon ship. I disagree with the suggestion that one not carry survival equipment - "So you don't need a week of water, solar still, fish hooks, etc.". If you're going to go to the great expense of EPIRBs, liferafts, immersion suits, etc., why wouldn't you carry inexpensive survival equipment for a "worst case scenario"?

Positive, sir. The accepted practice is to keep them at hand and don PRIOR to going into the raft.

thanks guys just a question I thought one of the lessons learned from the fastnet tragedy was that oversized liferafts are dangerous and can blow over if there is not enough weight inside them. Also I am not sure it matters where I place the liferaft on deck since the only time you are meant to get off the boat is when your steeping up into your liferaft. Cheers everyone thank you
