Lifeline Allergy

Warning, This is a rant.

It seems like most of the racers in my area have a lifeline allergy.

I have looked at a number of small sailboats in this area, looking for a small family cruiser, but most of the sailboats in this area are actively raced.

I can see wanting to remove weight, and I have read the threads that the consenses is lifelines are of dubious value.

Yes on a small sailboat they hit an adult at knee level, but if it's rough and you go forward, I'm on my hands and knees already, and they hit me mid shoulder.

I have looked at a dozen of boats, ...none of them had lifelines.

My question is do the lifelines really weigh THAT much to make a difference in wining and losing a race?

With children they can mean the difference in wether or not the kid stays aboard, (at least as a limit on where on the boat they are supposed to be).

It looks like any boat I buy the first expense is going to be getting lifelines installed.

Re: Lifeline allergy

AGM batteries should not be on deck.

Sorry, couldn't resist...
