I already have solar powered CG approved LED navigation lights. As a matter of fact, the whole boat is solar powered.

Solar lights involve a panel to generate electricity, a battery to store it in, and wires from the battery to the light.

So make the panels bigger, the wires longer, and give the batteries more capacity. Whammo, a typical sailing boat.
