She’s not too far from Titusville.

She is not being cared for.

She’s one of those abandoned boats now. Choking up the anchorages.

There are so many boats here in Florida now in the anchorages that have no one on them. Just people that are too cheap to get a marina but are absentee.

That is the fate of my old boat.

I reached out to the person I sold her to and he sold her to somebody else. A friend of his. And that’s who left her sitting in the Anchorage all alone, taking up space.

The guy who owns her was asking me why the manual roller Furler doesn’t work, why the mainsail electric in-boom furling doesn’t work and why the windlass doesn’t work. Answers? Clean the headsail furler, destroyed batteries is why the rest doesn’t work.

I’m afraid the boat is going to end up like the rest of the boats I see strewn about the mangroves and sunken.

It’s not a good fit for a pretty good boat. This boat could carry someone around wherever they wanted to cruise. It was extremely comfortable and ate up chop well. Now it’s just being wasted.

I saw the windex was hit on a bridge and also there is no anchor light.

What a waste.

I hope the seacocks are at least closed.

Everything about that is really sad.

You don't want to put any money on the seacocks being closed, do you?

definitely sad. It’s such a good boat. I considered keeping it and not building a boat anymore. it was a tough decision to sell.

I mean this boat could go cruising now. Yes it probably needs new standing rigging. It could probably stand some improvements and it definitely needs a new battery bank now.

but it’s a great boat. Really solid but also didn’t do too badly sailing. It kept up a pretty good speed all the time.

if anyone wants this boat, to make an offer or something, before it gets wasted, reach out to me. Because I have the contact information of the owner and he’s absentee. I don’t think he’s going to be able to take care of the boat properly.

I could put an offer in for someone. Or get you in touch with him. I have lots of pictures of the boat. Just in case people want to see it.

I would really hate to see it get destroyed.

it would be easy to pick it up for under 100 K. Well under. I think it would go for 60 or 70 K.

People often forget to factor in maintenance, storage, and insurance costs when they purchase a boat. They also forget that they don't have time to own a boat.

"It's the carrying costs, stupid!"

That’s true. I think they often forget about maintenance and storage. Insurance. You name it.

in the hopes that somebody trying to buy a really nice monohull saves her from the eventual demise she's facing, I'll put a few pics up here.

Re: It's a small, small world! I found my old boat today

and a few more. This was an exceptional boat. And everything works. The only reason a couple things aren’t working are because everything runs on electricity. And they let the batteries die. Electric winches. Electric in master furling. A very substantial electric windlass. Northern lights generator.

Bow thruster, stern thruster. This thing is a yacht.

The current owner doesn’t really have a clue. Because he has a friend coming out and look at why the in mast furling and the windlsss aren’t working. He doesn’t understand that they take a lot of amps. And the batteries aren’t delivering those amps and that’s why they aren’t working properly. So with the inside information that I know, you could get a great deal.

Simply replacing the batteries and taking care of them? Everything will work perfectly. I already know this. I have videos of this boat sailing as well as someone wants to see.

exterior pictures were taken yesterday. By me. Actually, every picture here was taken by me.

The boat is huge. It’s beamy, but it’s still has enough sail area to really get moving. It’s not tender. It’s pretty stiff. She stands straight up sailing at 7 or 8 knots.

she’s a 50 foot boat. And one of the last Gulfstars built. When they finally got them right. Ha ha

to be honest, I kind of miss this boat. Even while on mine.

Gorgeous boat. I think you should start a new thread about rescuing her. It might attract a lot more attention than being buried here.
