Is this the best-ever sailing cat?

Ha! Ha! I bet a whole lot of sea-moggie owners out there are bristling at the idea of any cat other than their own being the most perfect cat in the world!

I just wanted to share something of our fearless feline with fellow fanatics...

We've had Millie for just under two years. She was a foundling in Turkey aged around 8 weeks, ears tattoed (to signify having been spayed) and screaming at all passersby very loudly. How could we resist?

Over the past 18 months we have taught her to use the heads (it's true), eat fish straight from the sea and get herself back on board when she falls in at anchor. Self sufficient and cheap - my kinda cat!

Oh, and she loves swimming!

She has her own cat-a-log on our website and there's an about section devoted to our little queen.

Anyone else out there with such a clever pet?

Cute video, Liz! I can't imagine our cat jumping in on purpose. We tossed her in our pool once to make sure she could get herself out of it on her own, but when on the boat, she mostly stays below. A real scaredy cat. When she was a youngster, she would beg for a ride in the pool on a pool float, but only if she could stay dry.

I think that you have indeed got the perfect sailing cat!

Hud

p.s. love your blog!

Thanks, Hud! Very kind words.

For those who can't be bothered to wade through our website, here's a snap of Millie in one of her favourite positions:
