Is it usual for a marina to want to be added to insurance?

More and more all the time, as regulations are relaxed against corporate greed. The marina wants to make you responsible for any damage your boat may cause directly through your insurance, not a court.

My Marina ( Great Bay Marine ) in NH requires it. My insurance company askes where the home port is and automatically sends a certificate of insurance to the appropriate site
