In-water storage of sail drive and propeller

We are about to leave our home, in a marina unattended for a couple of months, while travelling and have heard that propellers and sail drive legs can be protected from fouling by bagging and adding a pool chlorine tablet. (ours is a Volvo 3 blade bronze folding prop).

Has any one done this or can anyone offer advice on in-water storage and protection? Thanks Sue

The bag over the prop and sail drive will be OK.

Never heard of putting in the pool chlorine tablets.

Would not chlorine be tough on any seals or other rubber parts it may come in contact with?
