Icebox repair

I live on a 2000 Hunter 290. I just defrosted the refrigerator and found a gap in upper back of the icebox behind the chill plate. I cannot get to the space to repair it as it's under the storage space above the fridge/icebox space, can only feel it with my fingertips. Any suggestions on how to fill/fix the gap without tearing the cabinet and countertop apart?

Re: Icebox repair

Just trying to see in my mind what you are describing. I'm thinking the product at home depot called "great stuff" Spray foam with a needle they give you to inject it in small spaces.

Re: Icebox repair

Buy some sealing clay/gum and press it in to fit..actually its the best way to seal it unless you can somehow get closed cell spray foam in there and then seal it as well

Think vapor barrier, the clay seals great...or...take the lid off and seal from outside, but beware...you wont like what you find in there.
