Might give a call to some of the local marinas and see if they have any get-togethers for the boaters and if your parents could attend.

Lots of people in a good mood that they can talk to.

If they like camping with the 5th wheel, boating should work fine.

One thought: You never indicated they were sailors. If they have a goal of sailing, that's fine but if it's more an opportunity to live on the water consider a trawler or even a houseboat. You can find some where they minimize the steps which may allow them an extra few years before they have to give it up (and for 99% of cruisers there is a point where they can no longer handle it no matter how healthy the lifestyle is).
