When I reattached the PVC rubrail on my Avon I started with Flexset. Worked very well and a few years later still holding. Considering it is difficult to find something that works on PVC and Hypalon very happy with the results. I keep a couple around the boat for tricky repairs.

But the stuff is very expensive. At the time the cheapest online I could find was about $18 each and no large kits available. For a large job it could get pretty costly. If I recall I bought 6-8 kits which only did half the rubrail. That's when I switched to 5200.

Both seem to be holding perfectly but the 5200 was a lot messier and did take longer to cure.

Re: Hypalon glue brands

Thanks kindly Jim and to the other members for the replies. The guy with the SC 4000 just got back to me and Purolator shipping wants $90 to transport a tiny box of glue because it’s a dangerous product. So I guess I’m going to look at ordering the 5200 for now because that’s probably mailable. I don’t want the patch to be worth more than the dinghy.
I asked him about the Rema 50 product and he said that any other common option would work as well

Re: Hypalon glue brands

we have had good success with AZBOND R.

https://www.swiftmarine.com.au/websh.../azbond-r.html

recommended by swift who are one of the better RIB manufactuerers

as with all hypalon glue (?), need to watch the humidity when using

cheers,

Re: Hypalon glue brands

Going to just try the 5200 for now since it was the easiest and cheapest option I could find to order here. Messy is fine at this point since our love for the floppy leaker has been diminished anyway after dragging it around a lot and constantly pumping it up in various annoying conditions. thanks again.
