Hurricane Damage

Hello.

I have hurricane damage to my Southern Cross 35 and need to find a shop to do some repairs. I have damage to bow anchor roller (stainless), teak toe rails, deck fiberglass and hull. In the fact the repairs span stainless, teak, fiberglass and likely paint....does anyone have experience with a shop in Southwest Florida (I'm in Punta Gorda) that can perform all that work?

Thanks for the help.

Regards,

Drew

Re: Hurricane Damage

If I had a boat in SW Florida that was functional but damaged, I would look into getting it to Fort Lauderdale or Palm Beach, where there are large boat yards and plenty of boat workers.

Playboy Marine in Fort Lauderdale is one place I would look in particular.

Getting a boat repaired after a major hurricane is no different from finding someone to fix your house -- damn near impossible. It's DIY or waiting a long. long time for an expensive project.

Once, after a major hurricane did some damage to my roof, I called my regular roofer and asked when he could come out. Is it leaking? he asked. No, just a lot of tile damage. I'll be there in about a year, he said. And he didn't laugh.

The next day, I was standing in line at a roof supply store to get the materials to do it myself.

Re: Hurricane Damage

Thanks. Yes, that is the issue I am running into. Someone also recommend Sailor's Wars in St Pete.
