Re: How old is your boat?

I have trouble searching for threads. I like the polls. The boats are older than I would have guessed. The size about what I see out there. Are there polls on how old we are or how much we cruise etc?

That's because the search function on vBulletin (this forum's system) is terrible. A far better way to search this site is to use your favourite search engine, but use the "site:cruisersforum.com" command. This forces the search engine to only search for your terms on that domain.

For example, if you want to search for "how old we are" on this site, go to DuckDuck or (if you must), Google, and type in:

"how old we are" site:cruisersforum.com

(The "" searches for exactly this string. Omit the "" to search all those terms).

Does that mean I am 25 years old like my boat. I remember reading something about the length of one's boat should be 1' per year of age. I should have a 72 footer. I got up to a 45 before scaling back.

Well...emotionally I stopped growing at around 12, soooo...I guess we can pretend I physically stopped aging at 37 feet years...lol

Interesting, Mike - I voted here as well (that's to relax some anxiety with the other, less important elections...) and interesting approx 80% of the responses were for boats 30+ years old... and I thought my baby, circa 1992 is too old...

Love those Old Dolls! The boats that awed me when I was young and dreaming.
Still cling to the hippie values of the 60s.

Re: How old is your boat?

Skylark was born in April 1973. She is #58 of the Pearson 36-1s.

She has gone through a complete refit over the past 12 years and is better than new.

Prettier too, IMO

Re: How old is your boat?

Skylark is 47, better than ever...

Yes...she is a bit heavy in the stern, but in the photo of her underway, she is going up a small wave in the English Channel.
