I guess I should give in on that king sized island bed, but allocating him a little space for his tools seems a bit over the top.
As for oversized wenches, someone reading a recipe thread I started just suggested I must weigh 500lb. He obviously hasn't checked out "Photos of anchors setting"

Re: How much say do men really have
So, How much say do children really have?
We traded our Morgan 33' for our Morgan 41' for our children. This was so that they would have their own cabins, but it gave us our private space too.
In 1996 when our children had left home we put our Morgan 41' on the market. We both thought the best choice would be to go back to something smaller. We looked at some Nauticats that were nice and several other boats, but we had not made a decision and we were stalling offers on our boat. One day after returning from a boat search in Fort Lauderdale, Nancie said why don't we just keep our boat. It's more space than we need, but it's paid for, we know it well and it does everything we want.
Here, twenty years later, we're on the same boat that we did not sell. I guess it was her choice, but I was quick to agree!

Re: How much say do men really have
His requests would mirror mine and we have been aboard 5 years. That doesn't mean that YOU shouldn't have say about things important to you, like MAYBE ??? Head, Galley, nav area or whatever your interests and needs are. By the way , Island bed is only way to go IF it will fit (much easier to make up). Russ

You got everything right except for the color on the shoes on the left, they should have been red!!

By the way, he is justifying his choice of speakers by the fact that they weigh 50% more than our anchor, so could therefore do double duty as a kellet in an emergency. Do you think he is trying to pull a fast one or is there really some merit in this? Redundancy in non vital systems does not seem very sensible to me .

Note To Self: Do not make SWL mad, she might drag you behind the boat on a string and board, and if she is really mad, she might cut the string...

Yeah but he will be rocking to the speakers whilst doing it.

The ones on the left look like my wifes, the ones on the right I have lol.
as for some male insight,
Big honkin Speakers, just tell him no. Buy him a guitar and tell him to make music for you. or buy 2 UEBOOM speakers from best buy for $150 a piece, they are the size of a beer can and put out enough sound for me to hear it over my 225hp bay boat.
Tools I would let him have as long as he knows how to use them. if they are there for looks, its just weighing you down and taking up space. If he insist on the tools, insist that if anything goes wrong, he has to fix it at sea and not pay someone at port to handle the issue his 1200 piece snap on set should be able to do. (side note, he should have a basic set of tools to fix problems that may arise. a tool bench is just too much lol)
I plan on bringing my Tig welder with me when we shove off, but the wife knows it makes money and can be helpful in situations.
Anchor and winch, no comment.
Big bed, just tell him it doesn't matter cause he'll have the same room as he does on a queen, you will just have more room on your side
Good luck. BTW
