Heaving-to with self tacking jib

I've recently become the owner of a 43 foot monohull with a self tacking jib set up. While my wife loves the convenience, I'm a little uncomfortable with the lack of control. Is there a workaround for heaving-to with this type of sail plan short of ditching the self tacking system entirely?

I appreciate any ideas on how we might do it. Thanks.

You can set up two lines on the traveller block with another block each side to lead them down the side decks to a cleat.. tie off the relevant line to hold the sail on the traveller at the required point then take in the slack on the other side and cleat off in case of luffing.
Simplest and easy fix.

The boat will likely not lay hove to if you drop it.

You simply lock the car at the end that you like and then tack and that's that.

Use a piece of rope to lock the car to the preferred end.
