We have been out 8 years now and I just turned 70. We do not carry any outside insurance. We found the
medical care in the rest of the world very inexpensive and very good. Admiral had hand surgery, once on each hand, in both
Colombia and
Tunisia and the cost was about 1,500-2,000 usd and both were very successful. I had 1/2 of my nose replaced in Trinidad, 2 screws put in my shoulder after I tore the ligament in
Tunisia, go to a dermatologist every 6 months regardless of the country and just got treated for pneumonia/bronchitis in Albania. The shoulder surgery was last
winter and costs less than 2,000 usd.
We also found dental care is also a lot less and also very very good.
