Haul Out near Deltaville, VA

Looking for recommendations on a marina to haul out a Lagoon 400 this spring, get the bottom painted, some through hull work, and store it on the hard during the summer. Appreciate your ideas. Needs to be in Va.

Thanks

Re: Haul Out near Deltaville, VA

We used to have good luck with Zimmerman’s and Stingray point. Zimmerman did two of our throughhulls and did a nice job. Stingray point was good for do it yourself stuff but they supposedly beefed up there services. Don’t know if they can haul your boat or not.
Deltaville boatyard has a big travellift but also have more complaints. The throughhull they put in my boat almost sunk the boat but that is a whole ‘nother story. [emoji3]

Re: Haul Out near Deltaville, VA

Since you are talking about a spring haul out, drive to Deltaville and talk to the yards. Stingray Boatyard and Chesapeake Boatworks are owned by the brothers Farinholt. One of their marinas has a larger travelift which may be the determining factor--I can't recall which. Sorry. Zimmermann and Stingray are both on Broad Creek and a quarter mile apart; Chesapeake Boatworks is on Jackson Creek, on the south side (Piankatank River). Both are within two miles of the center of Deltaville. The staff of all three yards will be glad to assist and to discuss their expertise.
